Do You See?

Shiva of the Shantytown: Poem in PYRTA

Know PYRTA? You are smart. Don’t know? You don’t read enough!

PYRTA is an English language literary journal that comes out from Shillong, Meghalaya. It calls itself “A Journal of Poetry and Things”, and the word PYRTA itself means “call out” in Khasi.

Ever since I’ve seen it around, it’s only grown better. This issue has superb artwork, lovely contributions from many good writers including some of my friends.

And mine too! Check out my poem “Shiva of the Shantytown” in this Spring issue of PYRTA. Am I not glad to be there. Thanks are due to editor Janice Pariat and guest editor Sridala Swami.
